-
faulty goods;
-
damaged goods;
-
incorrect goods;
-
missing items;
-
incomplete orders;
-
kits, bundles and assembled products;

3. Consumer statutory rights
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights when buying goods online.
These rights include rights where goods are:
-
faulty;
-
not as described;
-
not of satisfactory quality;
-
not fit for purpose;
-
damaged before delivery;
-
incorrectly supplied.
Nothing in this policy removes or limits your statutory rights.
4. Change-of-mind returns for consumers
If you are a consumer and you buy goods online, by telephone or by email, you usually have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason.
Unless an exception applies, you have 14 days from the day after you, or someone nominated by you, receives the goods to tell us that you wish to cancel.
If your order is delivered in more than one delivery, the cancellation period usually starts from the day after you receive the final delivery.
You then have 14 days from telling us that you wish to cancel to return the goods to us.
5. Our standard returns window
In addition to your statutory cancellation rights, we may accept eligible unwanted returns within 30 days of delivery.
To be eligible for a standard unwanted return, the goods must be:
-
unused;
-
not installed;
-
not damaged;
-
complete;
-
in a resaleable condition;
-
returned with all original packaging, accessories, manuals, labels and parts;
-
not a special order, bespoke, configured, cut-to-length, clearance, obsolete or non-returnable item.
We may refuse a return or make a deduction from your refund if the goods are used, damaged, incomplete, installed, marked, missing parts, missing packaging, or handled beyond what is necessary to inspect them.
6. How to request a return
To request a return, please contact us before sending anything back.
Email: hello@rselectricalsupplies.co.uk
Telephone: 01384 379921
Please include:
-
your order number;
-
your name;
-
the item or items you want to return;
-
the reason for return;
-
whether the item is unwanted, faulty, damaged, incorrect or incomplete;
-
photographs, where the item is damaged, faulty or incorrect.
We will review your request and confirm the next steps.
Please do not send goods back without contacting us first, as this may delay your refund or make it harder for us to process the return.
7. Return postage for unwanted items
For unwanted items or change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for arranging and paying for return postage unless we agree otherwise.
We do not currently provide free return labels for unwanted items or change-of-mind returns.
We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service when returning goods, as you are responsible for the goods until they are received by us.
We are not responsible for returned goods that are lost or damaged in transit before they reach us.
8. Return postage for faulty, incorrect or damaged goods
If goods are faulty, incorrect, damaged before delivery, or not as described, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where the issue is confirmed, we will not require you to pay the reasonable cost of returning those goods to us.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
-
provide return instructions;
-
arrange collection;
-
provide a return label;
-
ask for photographs or further information;
-
inspect or test the goods;
-
offer a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy required by law.
9. Faulty goods
If you believe an item is faulty, please contact us promptly.
Please include:
-
your order number;
-
a clear description of the fault;
-
photographs or videos where helpful;
-
details of how the item was installed or used;
-
any relevant batch numbers, manufacturer details or product labels.
Some electrical goods may need to be inspected or tested before we can confirm the appropriate remedy.
If the item is found to be faulty, we will handle the matter in line with your legal rights.
If the item is returned as faulty but no fault is found, or the issue was caused by misuse, incorrect installation, accidental damage, alteration, neglect, normal wear and tear, or use contrary to manufacturer instructions, we may reject the claim and may charge reasonable return, inspection or testing costs where permitted by law.
10. Damaged goods, shortages and incorrect items
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If your order arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect, please contact us promptly.
Please provide:
-
your order number;
-
photographs of the packaging;
-
photographs of the damaged or incorrect item;
-
details of any missing items;
-
photographs of any courier label or delivery note where relevant.
For consumer customers, this does not affect your statutory rights.
For business and trade customers, damage, shortages, incorrect goods or delivery discrepancies must be reported in writing within 3 working days of delivery.
11. Business and trade customer returns
This section applies to business and trade customers only.
Business and trade customers are responsible for checking that goods are suitable for their intended use, installation, project, customer, specification and regulatory requirements before purchase and installation.
Business and trade customers must inspect goods immediately on delivery.
Damage, shortages, incorrect goods or delivery discrepancies must be reported in writing within 3 working days of delivery.
Business and trade customers may not return goods unless:
-
the goods are faulty;
-
the goods were incorrectly supplied by us;
-
we have agreed the return in writing;
-
the return is allowed under this Returns Policy.
Business customer returns may be subject to supplier charges, restocking charges, testing charges, carriage charges or handling charges where permitted by law.
Special order, non-stock, bespoke, cut-to-length, configured, assembled, clearance, discontinued or obsolete goods are not returnable by business or trade customers unless faulty or incorrectly supplied.
12. Items that cannot usually be returned
Unless faulty, incorrect, damaged before delivery, or unless your statutory rights require otherwise, we may refuse returns of:
-
goods that have been used;
-
goods that have been installed;
-
goods that have been damaged after delivery;
-
goods missing original packaging;
-
goods missing accessories, instructions, labels or parts;
-
goods that are not in resaleable condition;
-
special order items;
-
non-stock items ordered specifically for you;
-
bespoke or personalised items;
-
configured or assembled items;
-
cut-to-length goods;
-
clearance items;
-
obsolete or discontinued items;
-
items returned outside the returns window;
-
sealed goods that are not suitable for return once opened, where the law allows.
This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, incorrect, damaged before delivery or not as described.
13. Kits, bundles and assembled products
Some goods may be sold as kits, bundles, packs or assembled product sets made up of more than one component.
Where a kit, bundle, pack or assembled product is returned, all components must be returned together unless we agree otherwise.
Returned kits and bundles must include:
-
all products included in the original kit or bundle;
-
all accessories;
-
all packaging;
-
all manuals and instructions;
-
all labels;
-
any included fittings, parts or components.
If only part of a kit or bundle is returned, we may refuse the return or make a reasonable deduction from any refund where permitted by law.
For business and trade customers, kits, bundles or assembled products made to a specific requirement may be treated as special order or configured goods.
This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, incorrect, damaged before delivery or not as described.
14. Electrical products and installation
Many of the products we sell are electrical goods, components, accessories or installation products.
You are responsible for ensuring that goods are suitable before installation.
Where required, goods should be installed by a suitably qualified electrician or competent person.
We may refuse a return or reduce a refund where goods have been installed, wired, modified, damaged, marked, used incorrectly, or handled beyond what is necessary to inspect them.
We are not responsible for faults, damage, loss or additional costs caused by incorrect installation, misuse, unsuitable application, alteration, neglect or failure to follow manufacturer instructions.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
15. Condition of returned goods
Returned goods should be securely packaged to prevent damage in transit.
Where possible, please return goods in their original packaging with all accessories, manuals, labels, components and included items.
You should not write directly on product packaging unless we instruct you to do so.
If goods are returned damaged, incomplete, used, installed, marked, missing parts or missing packaging, we may refuse the return or make a reasonable deduction from your refund where permitted by law.
16. Refunds
Once we receive your returned goods, we will inspect them and process the return.
Where a refund is due, we will refund using the original payment method unless we agree otherwise.
For consumer cancellation returns, refunds will usually be made within 14 days of us receiving the goods back or receiving evidence that you have sent the goods back, whichever is earlier.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you provide evidence that you have returned them.
If you paid for standard delivery, the standard delivery charge may be refunded where required by law.
If you selected a premium, express or enhanced delivery option, we are only required to refund the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option available for your order.
17. Deductions from refunds
We may make a deduction from your refund where permitted by law.
This may apply where goods have been:
-
used;
-
installed;
-
damaged;
-
marked;
-
handled more than necessary to inspect them;
-
returned incomplete;
-
returned without original packaging;
-
returned with missing accessories, manuals, labels or parts;
-
returned as an incomplete kit, bundle, pack or assembled product;
-
returned in a condition that reduces their resale value.
We will assess deductions fairly and reasonably based on the condition of the returned goods.
18. Exchanges and replacements
Where available, we may offer an exchange or replacement instead of a refund.
Exchanges and replacements are subject to stock availability.
If the replacement item costs more than the original item, you may need to pay the difference.
If the replacement item costs less than the original item, we may refund the difference where appropriate.
19. Orders paid with gift cards, discounts or promotions
If your order was paid for using a gift card, discount code, promotional offer or store credit, any refund may be adjusted to reflect the amount actually paid.
Where part of an order is returned, promotional discounts may be recalculated.
20. Delivery instructions and safe-place deliveries
If you provide delivery instructions to us or to the courier, including a request to leave goods in a safe place, with a neighbour, at a revised address, on a specific date, or with a nominated recipient, you are responsible for ensuring those instructions are suitable and secure.
Where the courier confirms delivery in accordance with your instructions, delivery will normally be treated as complete.
If you believe goods have not been delivered as instructed, please contact us as soon as possible so we can investigate with the courier.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
