Dedicated protection for heat-pump installations
This prebuilt BG consumer unit combines residual-current, surge and overcurrent protection in an anthracite grey metal enclosure. Its B+HP RCD is designed for the AC, DC, pulsed DC and high-frequency currents associated with inverter-driven heat-pump motors, with resilience to initial inverter start-up to help reduce nuisance tripping.
Supplied with a 32A C-curve MCB
The five-module assembly includes a 63A, 30mA B+HP RCD, a pre-wired single-module Type 2 surge protection device and one 32A C-curve MCB. The two-way enclosure has one spare way. DIN rail, neutral cable, neutral and earth terminals, labels, busbar and cover blanks are included, as listed by the manufacturer.
Surface mounting indoors or outdoors
The IP65 enclosure has cable-entry knockouts at the rear, sides, top and base. Installation and circuit selection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the supply safely isolated. The installer must check suitability for the specific heat pump and supply, maintain the required ingress protection at cable entries, and follow the supplied instructions and device markings. Test the RCD regularly in accordance with the applicable instructions and wiring regulations; clean only the outside using a soft damp cloth.
